In partnership with the Chilean government, Bridge English in Denver recently hosted two young students from Southern Chile, Bastián and Alonso. These students were sponsored by Chile to take part in a three-week General English program at Bridge, during which they improved their language skills and learned about U.S. culture.
BridgeEnglish students come from all over the world to immerse themselves in the language and culture of the United States. Su Jin Lee, from South Korea, is currently a student at our downtown Denver center, where she has been taking our General English program since last August.
Meet a student in the Bridge General English Program here in Denver, Colorado! Alina, from Switzerland, is taking part in a 4-week program to improve her English. We asked her some questions about her experience as a student at Bridge, what she likes about Denver, and if her opinion about the U.S. has changed now that she’s here!
Students from two universities in Colombia came to the U.S. to study at Bridge as part of a government scholarship they received for high achievement. The student group studied at Bridge in Denver for a three-week General English program, and also took part in cultural excursions designed to increase their proficiency. Upon completion, most saw their levels improve dramatically!
Bridge General English and Pathways students at Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York, learned about the U.S. tradition of giving back over the holidays. Volunteers took part in an annual food donation and distribution event called the Basket Brigade.
Gabriel is a Brazilian student who is currently studying at BridgeEnglish, Denver. In Brazil, he works as a manager of a bank and of a pizzeria. When he returns home to Sao Paulo, he will put his new English skills to use and help with translating at the bank. He has greatly enjoyed his time studying English at Bridge and exploring Denver! We asked Gabriel to tell us a bit more about himself and his experience here in Denver.

When asked, “Why study English in Denver?” many BridgeEnglish students attribute their choice to the reputation of BridgeEnglish and its great location in Denver. However, current student Andrea Meyer had a more unique reason to study here as he is aiming to improve his English and Parkour training– two seemingly different skills.
