Top 3 Myths About Studying English in the USA, and Why You Should Do It!

Making the decision to visit the United States to study English can be difficult. There are many schools all over the country, and you are trying to figure out your best option from far away! Sometimes you think studying English in the USA is not for you. After speaking to hundreds of students from all over the world, our program advisors have found that apparent obstacles are no obstacles at all! Here are the top 3 myths we hear about studying English in the USA, and some very good reasons why you should consider it!

I don’t have time
We hear this all the time, people all over the world who think that they don’t have time to come to the US and study English. Here at BridgeEnglish Denver, the minimum stay for most programs is 1 week! We receive short-term students who benefit immensely from our intensive English programs, because when you come to the US to learn English, you are learning English all the time, not just during classes! If you sleep 8 hours a night, you are still hearing, speaking and practicing your English for a full 16 hours every day with our programs. For a two week course, that is 224 hours of English! How long would it take you to practice English for 224 hours where you are now? And with Bridge, you can decide how best to spend your time with us, whether in a group, in private classes, with student activities or with a tour of Denver!

It’s too expensive
For most of our students, coming to Bridge is an investment in themselves. They want to improve their English in the fastest and most efficient way possible. We take that investment very seriously, which is why we offer a variety of courses to fit every need. Do you want just to explore our beautiful city and have a light course load? Do you want to spend most of your time in the classroom? We offer courses of all intensities so we can fit your budget. We also offer excellent home-stay options, which include breakfast, dinner, private room, weekend airport transfers and easy access to the school. Because the cost of living is lower in Denver than in other major cities in the US, everything you do will cost less here, from going to the movies to riding the bus and even shopping!

I don’t know where to start
With so many choices to consider, choosing the best English school for you can be a challenge. That’s why our program advisors are available on Skype, by email or on the phone to answer all your questions. We will keep you informed every step of the way, and will work with you to create a course that fits your needs, time and budget. As you begin your search for an English school that is right for you, keep the following things in mind:

  • What do you want to learn? Do you wish to focus on Business English vocabulary or university preparedness?
  • How long do you want to study English?
  • Where are you going to get the most from your investment?
  • How many students are in each class?
  • What type of accreditation does the school have?

You can find the answers to these and many more questions on our website: www.BridgeEnglish.com. You can also reach one of our program advisors on Skype at BridgeEnglish. Denver and via email at programadvisor@bridge.edu

We look forward to hearing from you soon!
