Bridge Executive Students Network with Denver International Community

Bridge executive students in Denver attended an international networking and educational event on Sept. 29, 2011, as part of the Bridge Executive Enrichment Program.

Bridge students representing Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Switzerland met members of the International Business Circle over cocktails and a gourmet buffet dinner. Bill Obermeier, an international brand and marketing consultant, spoke about new trends in global branding and engaged guests in interactive exercises to develop and evaluate brands. The discussion included new impacts on international marketing, including the social media, and Bridge students reflected on developments in their own countries.

The International Business Circle is an invitation-only organization of Colorado professionals engaged in international business, which hosts business forums and peer-to-peer learning opportunities. Members include executives and consultants in international marketing, sales, investment, manufacturing, transportation, oil and gas, tourism and education. The event was hosted by International Business Circle members in the private reception of a condominium complex in Downtown Denver.

Bridge student Loreto Larrain, Manager of Auditing at Ernst & Young in Chile, commented, “It was a good opportunity to meet real business people with international connections, and as a result of attending the meeting, I was invited to several other international events in Denver. I’m still in contact with people I met there through LinkedIn and email.”

Other Bridge participants included Emerson Aguiar, BASF, Brazil; Beat Bussmann, attorney and former member of Parliament, Switzerland; Joaquin Duran, agronomist, Amway, Brazil; and Marcos Perez, head of Legal Department, CH2MHill, Mexico.
Bridge English is striving to enrich the cultural and professional experience of executive students while they are studying in Denver by introducing them to the international business community through networking events and lectures at local universities and international organizations.
